Sweet Magnolia's is a new restaurant in Southfield, MI. Decided to give it a try for breakfast. I'm normally a sausage kind of guy but this time I decided to do Salmon Croquettes with rice, pancakes, and a glass of red kool-aide. The service was really great, the taste of the food was awesome and the prices are good. Looking forward to going back to get some of the cream corn I saw on the menu.

Stopped by national chain Chili's to try their limited time desert Peach Cobbler. I was very impressed with the butter cake baked in a skillet, warm peaches, vanilla ice cream and cinnamon sprinkled on top. Hopefully this will be added to the menu!!!

One of my favorite places to go for breakfast, The Fly Trap in Ferndale, MI is a fun place with unique twist on breakfast food. Today I decided to go with the Gingerbread waffle with Italian Sausage. The waffle is topped with sautéed apples, cherries and cinnamon syrup. If you're in the area make sure to stop in.

When ever I want some BBQ ribs, cooked outside on a barrel grill with some Open Pit BBQ Sauce, my go to spot is Nunn's BBQ on Conant in Detroit. I've been going here for over 20 years and the quality of the food has always been great. Today I decided to have an 1/2 slab of ribs, with potato salad, baked beans, and some peach cobbler for dessert. I was feeling mighty good after that meal!!!

Most people go to Bucharest Grill for their Chicken Shawarma, but I go for their 1920 Red Hot Sausage served on a sesame seed bun with mustard along with the Homestyle Potatoes, sautéed potatoes, carrots, onions and peppers.

Applebee's has upgraded it's kitchen to include wood fire grills. One of the new menu items is a wood fire grilled chicken salad with cornbread croutons. I must admit the cornbread croutons are addictive.

While in Louisville KY I had an opportunity to dine at the Cardinal Hall of Fame Cafe. I started the meal off with a Lettuce Wrap for the appetizer. The wrap consist of sesame-spiked chicken, water chestnuts, green onions atop of a bed of crisp noodles and fresh mandolin vegetables, served with Oriental Sesame sauce, sweet chili sauce and crisp lettuce leaves.

For the entree I had the Jamaican Shrimp Linguine, pan seared jumbo shrimp coated with Jamaican jerk seasoning on top linguine noodles tossed in a cream sauce with garlic butter.

I could not leave Louisville without having some Derby Pie, a Louisville tradition for several years.

Discovered this chain a few years ago for pasta been going back every since. The Skilletini comes on a sizzling skillet with spaghetti, spicy marinara sauce, marinated peppers and onions, with chicken and sausage. I started the meal with a bowl of roasted garlic baked potato soup topped with bacon and onions.

Lunch at one of my favorite places in Roseville, Lazy Bones Smokehouse BBQ. This is my favorite sandwich Smokestack Lighting, chopped burned ends, bacon, and sausage on a hoagie roll with honey sriracha sauce and broasted potatoes.

I saw Atomic Chicken listed has one of the hottest new restaurants in Detroit, so I decide to give it a try. Located in Clawson,MI on Livernois (or Main street per GPS) between 14 and 15 Mile Rd. The building does not have inside seating however they do have tables set up in the back, which allowed me to enjoy my lunch on sunny afternoon.

I decided to have the Lunch Special, which includes a sandwich, 5 oz side and a can of Faygo. For my sandwich I chose the Karaage Japanese Fried Chicken (ginger garlic, house kewpie, cilantro, and bacon bits), smashed sweet potatoes (with Michigan Maple and Cardamom) and a can of Faygo red pop. The chicken was very crispy and flavorful and the smashed sweet potatoes were a great side to add flavor to the meal.

Looking forward to going back and trying the chicken and waffles along with Faygo Rock n Rye Cake. The Detroit location is expected to open on Woodward in late July. @ChickenAtomic

Lunch at MICHICGO pizza in Ferndale, MI. I like that I can have a Chicago deep dish pizza with whatever toppings I want. Today I had the all meat pizza. The crust is good with the mixtures of meat. Knowing that the pizza takes 30 minutes to bake I called the order in and within 5 minutes of my arrival the pizza was on my table. The service was great which topped of my experience.

Decided to hang on the East Side and try DWC- Detroit Wing Company. The location is small only two tables for dine in. Decided to try the $6 Meal - 5 boneless wings and regular fry with a side of corn bread. For the wings I picked Whiskey BBQ (distinct spiciness of Templeton Rye Whiskey combined with traditional honey BBQ flavors). One thing on the menu that I may try next time is DWC Poutine (french fries topped with rich homemade beef gravy & fresh cheese curds)

Desset to go from Southern Belle Bistro

Lunch at Southern Belle Bristro in Ferndale, Mi

Fried Perch, chicken and dumplings, green beans, and corn muffin

Father's Day dinner at The Crab House, Tilapia with potatoes, corn, and boiled egg. Love this place!!!

Really enjoyed the outside experience of dining at The Fountain Detroit, in Downton Detroit. I had the Hand-Cut Fries-kennebec potatoes, thrice cooked with smoked sea salt and service with secret sauce, along with an Italian Sausage.

Dinner at Southern Belle Bistro in Ferndale, MI - Turkey and Dressing with Potato Salad. Good price, great service. Enjoyed the food

While on vacation in Florida had to hit up Shake Shack. I had the SmokeShack burger topped with all-natural applewood smoked bacon, chopped cherry peppers, and ShackSauce, crinkle fries and grape soda. Look forward to Shake Shack opening in downtown Detroit in 2017.

I've always heard of people driving the Keys in Florida, so I decided to give it a try. While in Key West I decided to try the Southernmost Beach Cafe so I could look out at the ocean while eating. The birds walking around the out door cafe was a little strange, but I guess they had a right to be there also.

While at the Beach Cafe i had french onion soup, housemade battered groper fish with coleslaw and fries, and an apple blossom with ice cream for dessert.

It was recommended that I stay in Marathon, FL on my way to Key West. Took the advise and stayed at a new Marriot hotel on the ocean with a beautiful view and a hammock that I chilled out on. While in Marathon I had dinner at the Island Fish Company & Tiki Bar. I decided to try Conch- the first dish was Conch Ceviche - key limed marinated sliced conch with a mixture of tomato, cilantro, onions, red & green peppers tossed with key lime vinaigrette served with tortilla chips. This is a dish that needs to be shared with more than one person, thankfully I was able to change it to conch fritters which I enjoyed a lot better. For dinner I had grilled shrimp wrapped in bacon, with yellow rice and sweet potato fries. A really great dining experience with an overview of the ocean and also after eating being able to walk along the water and see fish swimming.

I have been promising myself to start a blog of the locations that I like to dine at. I'll be posting pictures and my comments on the locations.
